I am John Wijngaards, a priest, theologian and writer. I worked as a missionary in India, and it was during that time (1975) that, almost by accident, I first discovered the Churchs need to reassess its attitude to the ordination of women. The authorities in Rome kept increasing their claims against women priests, imposing their opinion on theologians with ever higher sanctions. In 1998 I resigned from the active priestly ministry on account of my conflict of conscience.
Feel free to drop me a line. |
